The 2016 VR hit Job Simulator is getting a different kind of sequel. It’s Job Simulator: Human Relations, which is a flat-screen PC game rather than VR. FarBridge is developing it and publishing it in collaboration with Owlchemy Labs, the studio behind the original Job Simulator.
Job Simulator: Human Relations is a co-op physics comedy game for PC. Up to four players can work together to complete office tasks, deal with limited resources, and survive workplace disasters. The game is kind of a parody of the whole working-life experience, complete with arbitrary quotas, promotions, distractions, and all the weirdness that comes with trying to climb a corporate ladder.
It’s the Museum of JOB, where you play as a Bot employee who’s expected to wear multiple hats, both literally and figuratively. You and up to three friends can compete with each other locally or online, while trying to survive a chaotic week as employees.
There are Company Goals to hit every day, limited resources to fight over, and constant interruptions to deal with. The actual office is a top-down shared space, and the main goal is to do Meaningful Work. Now that just means completing confusing, repetitive, and unquestionably important office tasks.
The Job Simulator: Human Relations visuals share the same whimsical, comedic, and cartoonish robot art style from the original Job Simulator. You’ll find similar colourful office objects and light-hearted slapstick physics.
Job Simulator: Human Relations had launched a Kickstarter campaign
FarBridge just secured funding from fellow Austin-based indie studio Enduring Games, so the team is pushing forward with development faster. They plan to do the playtesting, feedback sessions, and community involvement soon. Meanwhile, the game is currently targeting an early 2028 launch on Steam.
