Tom is a postgirl who has no respect for other people’s privacy! And while I definitely wouldn’t want her poking around my home in real life, I’m perfectly fine with her doing so in Tom the Postgirl. Developed by indie studio Oopsie Daisies and published by ARTE France, Tom the Postgirl is releasing this month.
Tom is a mischievous little postgirl who’s supposed to deliver packages around a charming village. But she’s far more interested in what everyone’s getting up to behind closed doors than actually doing her job. Her approach to the job is intense, obsessive stalking, and she manages to keep her innocent little smile while being an absolute menace to the neighbourhood.
Every resident has something to hide, so every window, door, and crack in the wall is another opportunity for Tom to investigate. There’s a narcissistic mayor, an orphanage that looks dangerously similar to a dog kennel, two party-loving priests, and a couple of hippies who enjoy wielding chainsaws.
And the animals in the village are no less, either. There are drug-dealing pigeons hanging around the cemetery, wandering cowboy earthworms, and grumpy squirrels who have their own little problems.
Gameplay-wise, Tom the Postgirl is all about walking around, observing things, and finding the perfect spots to spy on the locals. Walk and stalk: that’s how the devs describe the game, which is a rather cheeky way of putting it.
You can also decide to make everyone’s day considerably worse. You can stalk villagers, open their packages, sabotage their gardens, and whatnot. There’s even a side quest involving saving some chickens.
Tom the Postgirl includes multiple endings
The game’s frame-by-frame animation and hand-drawn backgrounds give everything a retro feel. The contrast between the innocent-looking visuals and the downright unsettling things happening inside them is similar to the destructive absurdity found in Thank Goodness You’re Here!
A single-player game, it will launch on October 29th, 2026, for Steam and Nintendo Switch. It’ll retail for $9.99 and will have a 10% launch discount for the first two weeks.
