Survival Third-Person Shooter Anomalith Lands on PC and Consoles

Furyu Corporation has just dropped Anomalith, a survival horror shooter set in a dystopian Japan. It’s the studio’s first survival horror shooter and takes inspiration from the recent wave of anomaly horror films and games.

What’s the story?

Strange spatial anomalies known as Otherworlds, or Anomaly Zones, have suddenly started appearing without any warning. The government’s Special Danger Zone Countermeasures Office has been struggling to contain them or figure out where they came from.

17-year-old Reona Minazuki becomes a Diver for the government-backed Anomaly Zone Countermeasures Office after her friend goes missing inside one of the zones. During her first dive, countless other Divers fall victim to the horrors lurking inside, but Reona survives after a strange power awakens within her.

She’s also been awakened from a 10-year slumber inside an anomaly known as the Sarcophogus, leaving her with an unusually sharp sensitivity to the Otherworlds. Reona heads deeper into the Anomaly Zones as the sole survivor, hoping to find her missing friend.

The environments in Anomalith include apartment complexes where gravity works backwards. The shopping streets keep extending infinitely, and dark hallways look as though they’re writhing around with a life of their own.

I’m sure you’ll agree with me that liminal spaces and a slightly off-kilter retro atmosphere really work for horror. Anomalith leans into Showa-era Japanese aesthetics. Don’t you think horror is more effective when the surroundings feel wrong?

Anomalith is now available

It’s out on PlayStation 5, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2, with the standard version costing $49.99. Meanwhile, the Digital Deluxe Edition is priced at $69.99. The latter includes the base game, an 80-page digital art book, a select mini-soundtrack, and the Anomaly Zone Countermeasures Office DLC set.

Steam players can grab the base game with a 10% discount until November 11th. Anyone who preorders the game on any platform also receives the Lost Property Control Organization Collaboration Set until November 11th.
