The new Unseen Liminality update dropped two new areas for us to explore and die in, though everyone seems mostly excited about one of those. If you want to know how to reach The Red City in Unseen Liminality, then read along below.

What Is The Red City?
The Red City is a new area added in the October 10th content update. It resembles a large urban area, lit by red lights, and is based on a location from the Kane Pixels Backrooms video series. In playable form, it’s a mix of small enclosed outdoor segments, and interior segments that are like a slightly more industrial version of the Desolate Office or Empty Studio. There are a number of Places Of Interest, mostly the outdoor areas. It’s currently one of the furthest destinations in the game, though more areas are in development.
How To Reach The Red City
Okay, now to explain how to reach the place.
Accessing The Desolate Office
To reach the Red City you need to pass through another new area, the Desolate Office. You can reach this through a triple set of doors in the Empty Studio section, which you’ll be able to access through The Lobby, by crossing the huge pit. (That one from the Backrooms movie.) Then taking a right along the weird fake street and heading through the door there. Beware, the Still Life often patrols the Empty Studio. It’s fast, aggressive, and it can follow you into the Desolate Office if it’s chasing you.
Finding The Red City Entrance
Once you’re in the Desolate Office, you need to go through a certain set of doors. We’ll give you screenshots of each.
First, after entering the Desolate Office, head to the end of this hallway, and take the indicated door on your left.
One through the door, you should walk into this office. Make your way into the corridor at the far end, and take the left turn, following that hallway.
This should take you to another office space with desk chairs. You need to cross through that, and turn right right the door indicated by the arrow.
Next you should find yourself in another hallway, head along to the stairwell door at the far enough and go through.
From there, you should find yourself in a courtyard-type are. Head to the lower level and through the left-hand door, and that should take you to the Red City.
Is The Red City Dangerous?
If you’re playing in regular, non-passive servers then you can die in The Red City. My searches so far haven’t flagged up any special entities there yet, but I have found Mimics wandering the area. (And had one jump me in an office block.) So, keep an eye out for anything that looks like a player and get a closer look before you get close. I also found that the Still Life from Empty Studio often patrols near the Desolate Office door, and may follow you into the area. I’ve seen it as far as the door to the courtyard, so it’s possible it could follow you, or another player, into the Red City. So, keep on your toes and don’t get too comfortable.
